Douglas Dougan

Multi award-winning Producer & Screenwriter - new to iP

Hi all

I'm new here. I'm based in the United Kingdom but am looking to expand and make new creative connections for projects.

Any other UK based members on here? Or are there any US based members looking to form creative collaborations with the UK?

Would love to hear from people.

Doug

do you drama action
My 2006 film "Run, Tony, Run!" is an action-romantic-comedy (a love story with stunts!). We won BAFTA Award for it (that's the British version of the Oscars).
Hello Doug.

I am a novelist by trade, but I did write a comic novella with Lenny Henry in mind, but Mr. Henry was out of the producing racket. I also sent a snyopsis to the BBC, but they - strangely enough - were working on a drama with a similiar subject and they did not want to confuse their project with mine.

Personally (and egotistically, I should add), it is quite an amusing story and would be easy to adapt to film. And the story is neither US or UK-centric. It is an odd fantasy.

Drop me a line if you wish more details.

Cheers!

Bertram
I work with both Europe and USA nice to meet you Dog, i'm currently working on a script taking place in London.

Hi Douglas,

We have members from all over the world on IP. The idea was exactly what you're looking for; to connect filmmakers from all over the world to collabroate and create. I've already hired people in my current crew base from the IP site! The more people that join, the wider that creative base becomes!

Enjoy!
Kerry
Hey Jordan

Thanks for this. Good to meet you too. Hope the scripts are coming together.

Hi Kerry

Thank you. Yep, it all looks very encouraging here.

Hi Doug: My name is MaryAnne McMahan. I am screenwriter living in Southern Oregon. Welcome to the site. I personally am finding it really interesting. I met a young man from the United Kingdom visiting Oregon last August. He was pitching a personal biography. His name was Mikey Wild. I have been emailing him back and forth encouraging him and he's been helping me with a children's story I'm writing based in England. I've discovered my American take on England isn't very accurate. :) So he's setting me straight. I met him at the Willamette Writers Conference in Portland, Oregon. Kerry David was there taking pitches as well. I have been pitching three scripts this year and a 10 part webisode. I'm willing to help you too in anyway I can. Best MaryAnne
Hi Douglas,

How are your scripts coming?

Best regards,

Hi Doug,

I'm a screenplay writer with access to funds, guild directors, producers and distribution for my scripts. I, at one time reviewed some UK films in the can for distribution and have seen many on the screen. The new breed of filmmaker there are very good. My wife's mother is from Cornwall. So, welcome to a new U.S. collaboration.
