Do you know how a "straight to DVD" deal is structured? For example, If I were to produce/finance a $200k budget film and just want to sell it to either to a Walmart or distributor outright like a negative pickup. What are the guarantees that they will honor the deal and buy the film?
Hi Bradley, feel free to skype me at epeghin and we can chat about this... Short answer - you won't get such a commitment from Walmart and whether the distributor will honor the deal will depend on the reputation of the distrib. Assuming it's a reputable distributor, whether it must purchase the film will depend on the terms of the deal and whether you have met the terms exactly.
