It's the same in the music industry. There are sites out there now that charge a band a few hundred bucks, to be a feature artist on their site, with the band's music, then 'pay' the costs of burning music to CD's to listeners who want to purchase a…

I've been a struggling writer for a couple of decades now and decided to just publish myself online and continue to work on larger projects.
I run a website with my sister, called knobrock, a rock/metal 'e-zine' but with a slightly comical perspective, poking fun at the genre and ourselves. We film interviews with bands and this year we began filming our own segments/skits for the site, to boost [or destroy] our profile. [if we actually HAVE a profile.]
Our vision of knobrock changed slightly in the past six months, as we found ourselves bored with interviewing bands and wanted to focus more on the absurdities that seem to accompany nearly every project we embark on.
Active Projects
Right now I'm writing, producing, funding [god damnit!] and acting in a series of comedic sketches called KNOBROCK 101. Basically, they're 'educational' clips, running for a maximum of 3 minutes, demonstrating the different genres of hard rock and heavy metal, but taking the piss out of it all in a non-malicious way.
Projects Currently In Development (Title, Film/Television, Status, Budget)
I have been invited to have a segment on a internet radio station and have actually forgotten the name of it, but I'll post it when I dig it up. Basically, I will give a weekly round up of music news, then introduce an Australian band's song, of my choice.
I'm also about to launch a blog, where I can have the freedom to tackle other subjects, outside of knobrock's genre, plus exploit my talents as an editor for Uni students and copy-writing for websites. My rates are flexible and I will undercut reasonable quotes!
Favorites (Film, Director, Television, Actors, Musicians, etc.)
Anything by the Coen Bros, Wes Anderson & Kubrick. Fav films; The Big Lebowski, Bottle Rocket, Valley Girl [my guilty pleasure!] Music: I love it all, but oldschool metal rocks my world. I also have a soft spot for Sam Dunn, a Canadian film maker, who makes the best metal documentaries out there.
Dreams & Goals
To see my project to completion and from that, have the opportunity to share more of my stories and to never have to stand behind a cash register and use the phrase, "Hi, can I help you?" again!
As a labour of love your project reminds me of ANVIL - the way the guy who was a fan just stuck doggedly at the subject. Are there are fim grants from the AFC?
I love Adelaide, spent a few days there on my journey by road from Darwin to Sydney....great trip.
