Dreams & Goals
My name is Benjamin A. Fluter and I’m a producer for a local digital media studio in Portland called Revolver Digital Media Studio, LLC which is privately owned and operated outside of Portland. The business was started in late 2005 by Jeremiah L. Scott, Chris Roller, and Bryan R. Thompson. The guys had a childhood bond that was established in their wonder years in Dallas Oregon. During Bryan’s days at the Art institute of Portland the guys worked on several projects which ultimately lead to the forming of Revolver Digital Media Studio. I was introduced to the group when I hired Revolver to handle the post-production on a short television pilot I was working on. The group continued to work with me for several months before they ultimately offered me an owner position in the company in January 2008. Revolver has worked with a variety of clients ranging from local indie music artists to well known high talent actors in the city of Portland; we recently shot a music video for King Black Acid one of which is from the new Underworld 3 soundtrack. In 2008 Revolver Digital Media Studio started working with King Black Acid (KBA) on “Rolling Under”, a side project that is slowly coming together in our spare time. The track was a reacquired song from The Mothman Prophecies motion picture soundtrack. The video is a surreal adventure through time and space using unresolved memories as a map for the main character as he attempts to rekindle the emotional connection of his youth. The video is shot with a raw and dirty look, with a combination of futuristic and prehistoric characters who convey all sorts of relationships and emotions that serve as fuel for our character's quest. During production KBA was approached by Skip Williamson – producer on Underworld: Rise of the Lycans– and was offered a contract to create a track for the new Underworld movie soundtrack.
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans producer Skip Williamson and King Black Acid realized the potential for this song, "Let's Burn", and based on Revolver’s previously established relationship with KBA, immediately launched into production of a video for the track. We shot the KBA music video with the Panasonic HVX200 in 720p 24pn. We edited the entire project in Final Cut on a quad-core Mac Pro. We shot it in 4 partial days and had a quick turnaround to make our release date of February 25th.
We’re in post production on a short film that wrapped in January. Jeremiah handles all the cinematography for the studio, while also taking time to direct and write stories. Chris Roller scores all of Revolver’s films and also engineers our visual effects and other post work. I’m a writer and producer for the company and had a part in constructing the story for It Never Dies. Bryan is the writer director of the group who is the lead writer on It Never Dies!! It’s a true moment to moment survival horror story wrapped lovingly in an independent pulp overcoat.
Quick note – Though the story comes from the dark twisted recesses of writers Bryan R Thompson and Benjamin A Fluter’s brains, some events are gleefully inspired by untold years of watching truly great films of all genres and quality. You can learn from the best, but you can always learn more from the worst.
I’m currently producing a web series called “Blue Fiddles” that revolves around three well versed women soul searching for meaning and content amongst the day to day grind living in Portland. Three episodes of the series will be shot this summer and rolled out to the general public next fall.

A café with a view By Christian Gaston

The Forest Grove News-Times, Aug 19, 2009

It started in the mind of a Portland actress, but it quickly picked up steam.

Soon enough, Purple Cow Vineyards had donated wine, Pizza Schmizza had kicked in some pie and Maggie’s Buns was hosting a film shoot.

Nina Botto, the energy behind “Blue Fiddles,” a web series being shot in the Portland area this summer, said she’s been stunned by the outpouring of support.

“People are just volunteering and jumping out of the woodwork,” Botto said.

Do-it-yourself crew spins 'Blue Fiddles' Web series in Portland by Kristi Turnquist, The Oregonian

Abby Metty, The OregonianNena Botto (center) and other cast and crew shoot a scene for "Blue Fiddles," a Web series that Botto dreamed up and is turning into a reality in Portland.

Outside a Northwest Portland apartment house, Nena Botto carries an armload of boxes toward the front door. Co-star Jeff Mills walks toward her, his bearded face half-covered by the hood of his sweatshirt.

"Can I help you?" he asks.

"No, that's fine," Botto says, frostily. She's wearing a neat skirt and cardigan, l… Continue

Blue Fiddles: Slated for premier this fall

The city of Portland has been featured in quite a few movies as of late, from 2007’s Mr. Brooks to 2008’s Untraceable. For residents, the filming industry in Portland is no secret. In keeping with the city’s unique spirit and do-it-yourself attitude, a group of locals are now picking up the camera and producing their own Internet-based television show.

Writer, actress and director Nena Botto, along with produ… Continue

VIDEO! King Black Acid: Still Creepy After All These Years-Written by: Casey Jarman Category: Art and Photography

king black acid stillThey may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of the local rock scene, but King Black Acid has built some serious Portland street cred over the years. The band has featured ex-members of the Wipers and Pigface, released albums alongside Elliott Smith and Richmond Fontaine for the Cavity Search imprint and played just about every room (big and small) in Portland.
Frontman Daniel Riddle and company have also found ways to make a little extra skrilla (my word… Continue
