Hawaii Independent Film Association
Hawaii Independent Film Association is a motion picture company dedicated and specialized in packaging, production, and distribution of films that have an original concept, a strong moral message, a marketable cast, with a cost efficient budget, and the potential for high revenue driving film entertainment ventures. We have created a niche beyond traditional sources, producing dynamic projects, which deliver a strong audience appeal and are filmed and Produced in Hawaii, under the provisions of a 100% Qualified High Tech Business Investment Tax Credit Act 221/215.
Active Projects
The CO-OP Pre-Production
. The story follows the main character as he spends the week convincing his CO-OP neighbors to sell, only to find out how much he really loves his life right where he is. After they turn down the deal, they end up rich by a stroke of luck when they find out property is worth a fortune. The underlying moral message is, that no amount of money can replace good friends. It’s a cross pollination of insanity at it’s finest, within a frantic pace that builds to a surprise and climactic happy ending. The film will have love, laughs, temptation, family bonds, dreams, laughs, contentment, conflict, greed, pressure, kindness, laughs, revelations, life lessons, more love, good luck, and a true understanding that laughing is really good for your soul.
Projects Currently In Development (Title, Film/Television, Status, Budget)
The CO-OP is looking for a distribution deal to cover half of the 6 million dollar budget. The other half is being funded as a QHTB in Hawaii under Act 221/215 for Hawaii investors.
Favorites (Film, Director, Television, Actors, Musicians, etc.)
The screenplay was written to accommodate the concept of utilizing a group of older comedians / Actors to play eight different characters who have been neighbors and Co-Owners of a Co-Op apartment building for 20 years. (A list of potential comedians can be provided for review.)
Dreams & Goals
From the Producers view, the majority of the film is shot from a single central location, the eight unit apartment building, making this a film that could be shot virtually anywhere. The economics of the recognizable low budget cast, and the single location for the production, makes this a film with a lot of upside for marketing and distribution. The storyline translates to any country and could be remade in any language using a similar pool of dated comedians and actors of that nationality to play the characters.

Greg,

What is your interest? This screenplay storyline translates to any language so it could be made in any country using older actors/ comedians of that nationality.

On the film project in Hawaii I'm working on now, I'm looking for the balance of the funding (3 mil.), preferably from a distributor with some horsepower. I have two mid-majors that are familiar with the QHTB Hawaii Tax credit guidelines that are considering it at this time.

You can call me at 858-525-5115 if you want me to send the screenplay for review.

Thx, Jay
