Thank you for taking the time to review my page, and especially thank you for your interest in my sci-fi project. And thank you for adding me as your friend. I guess the best way to describe my project is to start from the beginning:
THE BLACK RIDERS
Logline: A drifter with amnesia discovers he once fought Alien invaders back in time of the Old West and that his destiny is linked with an upcoming final battle for Earth.
Sci-fi of epic proportions. Seven scripts written, the last one setting up a possible weekly sci-fi television series. Unique combination of elements: sci-fi/action/adventure, time travel, Western motif. Part 8 currently in first draft development. (Estimated Approximate Budget: $10-$25 Million)
WGAw Registration #: 1286846
To tell you a bit about our current project, it is entitled: THE BLACK RIDERS. It is a science fiction script of epic proportions. And by that I mean it is written, so far, in four parts, with the ending of part four leading into the potential development of a weekly 1-hour sci-fi television series.
Part 1 through 5 is currently in the final stages of being polished, then parts 6 and 7 will be tackled.
However, getting back to answering your query, THE BLACK RIDERS has a very unique combination of elements to it: a little history, a little time travel, a western, contemporary modern day action-adventure-drama-thriller, and aliens.
Here is a brief summary of the concept, but believe me, this doesn't even do it justice, or even touch the surface of the story. There are so many different twists and turns, and the subplots thicken and expand everyday as The Black Riders is a continuing work-in-progress.
So, here's a very basic summary of the concept:
Concept Summary:
Part I: Out of the Ashes
John Severen, a drifter, who lost his memory, takes a job for a trucking company that he discovers is run by ex-Black Ops personnel and has been delivering extra terrestrial creatures, Reptilian Dracos, in cryogenic containers. Aliens attack him and some other truckers, during which John almost turns on his friends after apparently being under some kind of mind control, which he fights off at the last moment. John pieces his past together, realizing that, when he was a young boy, he was a member of a group of eight gifted children, the Montauk Kids, who, under the facilitation of the government, would meld their minds together and send themselves into the past, the Old West, as cowboy riders to defend that world against alien invaders. He eventually teams up with the other seven, now thirty years later, to fight off an alien armada that is headed towards Earth, guided by the aliens who are already here. As he prepares for the invasion, helped by a secret group, John discovers that the aliens abducted him when he was a boy. As he tried to help the other seven children escape them, he was captured, implanted with a microchip that controlled his mind, and his blood was mixed with alien DNA, which allows him to change his form into that of the Reptilian-Draco alien, an ability that he intends to use against those that are invading and are already here and who damaged his life in such a profound way.
What John doesn't know is that there are two more Riders that he hasn't met yet, who we get glimpses of in Part One but will get to know better and see more of as the series progresses. The two mysterious unknown riders are his half-brothers that he has never met.
The novelization of the first script, THE BLACK RIDERS: Out of the Ashes, has been published by Outskirts Press in Colorado and is currently available through Outskirts Press.com, Barnes & Noble (B&N.com), and Amazon.com.
