In 2001, our documentary, "Haitian Slave Children" received critical and international success, and we were able to make a difference, unfortunately, it was not a lasting one because now there are more children than ever that need your help.. In 2008, we saw much devastation caused by Hurricane Gustav, and if you think Michael Brewer's organization wasn't affected, you are sadly mistaken.

In 2001, we brought you up close and personal to the efforts Michael Brewer's doing in the country. Unfortunately, these last few years have not been the best for the charity. Since the first documentary aired, him and all of the children have lost their home once called their "Safe Haven". Food has become scarce with some children not able to receive their share daily. "Our support has crashed into almost nothing

In 2008 alone, they have witnessed a devastating hurricane (Gustav) and a global economic crisis. It's a shame that the United States government will argue for months about bailing out banks and automotive companies, but not one statement is carried about bailing out the world's most precious resource, Children.

Michael's dream is slowly crumbling right before his eyes and the fate is out of his control. The kids are scattered throughout the country now, with no path to a brighter future ahead. Until the organization can support them again, some kids will continue to be abused by whatever slave trader that finds them, some will die from lack of food and shelter. You may have the one or two slave children that may make it out of there, but how prepared for the world will they be without any tools to teach them and keep them safe?
